Junior Organisers' Workshops

The EGU/EWGA Regional Development Officers are available to run Junior Organisers’ Workshops for those involved in the running of a junior section, including Junior Organisers, PGA Professionals, Golf Club Secretaries/Managers and volunteers. PGA members attending the course can apply to the PGA for 15 CPD points.  Golf Club Managers/Secretaries attending the workshop will be allocated 3 GCMA CPD points.

The workshop examines the roles and responsibilities of a Junior Coaching for JO workshop pagejunior organiser and the junior section and can offer support and advice on the issues surrounding junior golf development at a national, county and local level.

The workshop provides an opportunity to introduce the Regional Development Officer and includes information on EGU/EWGA initiatives that can benefit golf facilities including GolfMark, Coaching Grant Aid and the National Skills Challenge.

Workshops are approximately 3 hours in duration for 15 to 20 attendees, at a cost of £15.00 per person.  Each attendee will receive a Junior Organisers' Handbook and certificate of attendance.

If a county feels that this workshop would be beneficial within their area and if they have sufficient interest from their affiliated clubs, counties should contact their relevant Regional Development Officer to discuss.

Counties will be asked to book the venue and invite attendees. The EGU/EWGA require the county to send payment prior to the workshop.

Any golf club representative who feels that they may benefit from a workshop of this kind can contact their County Union/Association/County Golf Partnership to express their interest.
