About Us
The main purpose of the Kent County Golf Union is to promote the game of golf by various means such as the organisation of Championships and matches, and by other means, deemed appropriate by the Council of the Union, that serve to raise the standard and profile of the game in the County. The KCGU is also the representative body in the County that acts in conjunction with the English Golf Union to administer the interests of amateur male golfers throughout the Country.
The entire management of the affairs of the Union are vested in a Council consisting of one male member from each Golf Club belonging to the Union. The general management of the Union is then exercised by a Committee appointed annually by the Council.
All male club golfers in the County have the opportunity to belong to the County Union as Individual Members and are encouraged to do so.
By this means participants in the game can more easily take an interest in, and have a closer association with, the administration of golfing activities in the County and the Country.
